Tribute to Some Top Couples in the Sitcoms

I will be writing this blog to pay tribute to this beautiful edit:

From the first moment I watched this, I fell for it.

Of course, the background music is everything and the right thing for this edit, making it one of the cutest and most heartfelt shorts one can remember.

There are a few famous and most loved onscreen couples. I am not familiar with each one of them, but I am surely aware of more than half of them.

So today, I will talk about those and share some of my favorite moments.

Starting with:

Pam and Jim

Out of all the couples present in this video and all the sitcoms I have watched till now, they are undoubtedly one of the best on-screen couples.

They were pure, non-toxic, supportive, had amazing chemistry, and had less crap in their relationship and on the screen.

Those couples who have too many scenes, even though they are good, automatically start becoming annoying later.

But luckily, the writers of The Office were smart and managed to keep them simple and decent.

I have already talked about this show earlier, where I mentioned my top favourite moments in the show.

Here I get a chance to solely talk about this beautiful couple.

I simply love Jim’s character.

He was always into Pam with pure intentions, but he never did anything unethical and remained calm and patient.

If we closely observe, he was finally able to confess his true feelings to Pam on the advice of Michael.

He told him to never give up.

That scene was very good and gave Jim the motivation to stick with it.

We can simply never forget the scene:

Best scene of them together.

At this moment, you actually forget that it’s a sitcom.

John Burke Krasinski nailed it.

The way he delivered his dialogue and the tears you could see in his eyes made you feel for him.

On the other hand, Jenna also did a great job.

She was respectful of his feelings.

Deep down, she also feels the same but can’t do anything about it for now because of his engagement.

That time was really hard for Jim.

It’s not like we only had Jim suffering; later on, Pam was also in a lot of pain when Jim was gone and dating someone else.

They were both adorable and right for each other.

I was very glad when, finally, these two got together.

As already mentioned, I loved the simplicity they maintained throughout the show.

Remember this scene?

Such an unexpected, simple, beautiful, and perfect proposal scene rather than involving a fancy dinner, too bright sets, or anything else.

When I see them, I believe that, not always, but in some cases, soul mates exist.

They are an ideal couple, as they were honest and loyal to each other.

If you guys can remember, in the later seasons, one of their new office colleagues tried every possible way to seduce Jim but failed.

However, they had their ups and downs in relationships, but they figured it all out with a hug.

If you want your relationship to work, you can make it work regardless of how far you are from each other.

Pam and Jim are ideal examples for a lot of those who are going through the challenges of life.

No one can beat this couple for me.

Now, moving on to the next couple in the video that belongs to the same show as above:

Michael and Holly

This was not the lead couple in the show, but it was something that Michael had been looking forward to for a very long time. Their story was short but also really cute in its own way.

I do like to share my other thoughts here.

I really don’t know why the writer screwed up Jen’s character.

She was one of the more mature and classy characters in the beginning, and I loved Michael with Jen more than Holy.

Their storyline and Michael trying his best to be with her were heart-melting.

But the writers simply ruined her character by making her a total psycho, and this couple didn’t survive long.

Even though they were a great couple and had good chemistry,

The writers had something else on their minds, and they introduced us to Holly.

Michael was very serious about her, and after years of being apart, they finally reached an endgame.

They had their happy and sad moments throughout the show.

If we talk about Michael, he was always happy with her, as she has a personality just like his.

They both enjoy each other's jokes and really enjoy each other’s company.

Their proposal scene was super cute.

Finally, Michael’s got someone in his life, and now it’s time for him to settle down.

He got what he had been wanting and waiting for such a long time.

This was one of his biggest wins.

However, it had a cost for him and the viewers. He moved away to be with her, resulting in his absence from the show. That was one of the unexpected events that happened on the show.

Even though his character had a good ending, we still wanted to see him in the show until the end.

He was one of the best bosses who always respected, loved, cared for, and treated his employees like friends.

For him, Dunder Mifflin is his home, and his coworkers are his family members.

Steve Carrell was a perfect fit for this role, and Michael Scott can never be forgotten.

Now, moving on to three couples in the video that belongs to the same show: How I Met Your Mother,

Let’s start with

Marshall and Lily

One of the most beautiful, loyal, and mature couples who stick around each other throughout the show They were great together, as they always understood and supported each other.

Yes, there was a part in which they fell apart from each other, but I really don’t blame Lily here.

Art was something she was very passionate about, and she wanted to give it another try.

What’s so wrong about it?

I can totally understand her situation and totally support her.

She was always good to Marshall and always put him first, but this time, she wanted to do something for herself.

I really wish that these two had sorted this out in a better way rather than breaking up with each other.

However, they made their way together, and after that, they always stayed together.

We must thank Barney over here, who gave a very brief but a convincing speech to Lily to never let go of Marshall.

The reason I like their relationship is because of the respect they always show each other.

They both helped each other achieve their dreams.

They are a classic example of mature relationships, which we all want in our own lives.

Their whole storyline—wedding, being parents—everything about them is like a fairy tale.

Not only as a couple but Marshall and Lily were also two great people.

They were the backbone of the whole group and always welcomed and helped their friends in everything.

Out of all the moments they had, my favourite one is:

When Marshall found out about Lily’s second pregnancy,

That was such an unexpected yet perfect scene.

There was a time when they were trying really hard for their first child, and now they are suddenly expecting even the second one.

That scene is always going to be my favorite because it showed us that these two were always ready for changes and unexpected events together.

They were good people—an adorable couple, good friends, and great parents.

A perfect example of an ideal couple

Now, let’s move to the second couple from the same show:

Barney and Robin

Many people are just crazy about them and hate the fact that these two split up.

As far as I am concerned, I am neutral here. It’s not like I didn’t like them together; I actually loved them at many points. But I was having a strong feeling that they might not become the endgame.

Throughout their relationship, it was always Barney who put in more effort than Robin.

Robin was someone who was just too obsessed with her career to care about her personal relationships, no matter how much she loved them. I completely understand her because there are many people like her, particularly many females.

They might end up being very successful, but many of them lose their loved ones during this journey.

This was something that happened with this couple too.

Barney, even after being such a playboy for so long, was a completely different person to her, but her too much passion or obsession resulted in their divorce.

It was not like she didn’t love Barney; she actually did, but that’s really not how relationships could work out.

No matter who she will be with one day or another, this will surely happen.

This is a reality that many people and the fans of this couple still can’t understand.

That’s a great lesson and a message that this show has given us.

Compare this to the situation of Marshall and Lily; they both made compromises on their careers to save their relationship every time. If they don’t do that, they will also fall apart.

For me, How I Met Your Mother is the best show, as it teaches us important facts about life and relationships.

Now, let me share some of their best moments together.

I would love to start with this scene:

This scene will always be my favourite. This scene was rightly written, directed, acted, and presented, and it gives chills to the audience.

This is somehow an unpredictable event that most of us were not expecting. They were both dating the right person at that time, but still, this thing simply happened.

Barney and Robin were both messed up and were not able to let go of each other, even though they were with somebody else who was one of the best people they could get.

Nora and Kevin were both mature and wonderful people, and they had a mature and healthy relationship with Barney and Robin.

This taxi scene clearly shows how much they wanted to be with each other.

I don’t completely blame them, as such events do happen in real life as well. You might find the right person who is good to you but still can’t get over the people from your past.

Now, let me come to that moment, which is very famous and has touched the hearts of many lovers:

People simply can’t get over this adorable scene.

I loved Barney over here.

We cannot even imagine he could be like this, but he just surprised us all. There are a lot of other such moments, but as I am right now talking about this couple, I am just mentioning this one.

I will surely mention those other moments in the future.

Barney and Robin had a beautiful and complex relationship, which most people love.

Their storyline covers a lot of important aspects of life that we mostly miss. If you try to catch up on that, you can understand the main reason behind their separation. Then, you will not hate their ending that much.

Now, let’s come to the most beautiful one:

Ted and Tracy

I can’t say much about them when you have this scene:

There are no words to describe the beauty of this scene or the conversation they are having over here.

Even after so much short screen time, they are simply the best couple out of all.

Tracy was someone Ted always wanted to be with. I felt so happy for him that he finally got what he had been waiting for so long.

Sadly, Tracy couldn’t be around for a longer period, which most of the audience hated. But you know:

Death is unpredictable.

Things do not always work out the way we want or plan.

That’s the beauty of this show, which many people find hard to digest.

There is no doubt that the writers could end the show after the above scene rather than killing her and making Ted get back together with Robin.

But they decided not to do that.

I agree with the people who wanted this ending; of course, that would also be quite fair enough.

Meanwhile, I also never hated the original ending of the show.

We will talk about this topic later.

Right now, I would like to talk about the beautiful time and memories these two had together.

Tracy was the one who made Ted feel complete and always understood his philosophy of life.

We all need Tracy in our lives, but just so you know:

People like her are really hard to find.

Ted had a happy ending, but the time he had with her was simply the best he had ever had throughout the whole show.

Now, let’s come to the sitcom, which still has a huge fan base.

Friends!

Let’s start with one of the unexpected but perfect couples:

Monica and Chandler

Often referred to as Mondler, it was one of the most beautiful on-screen couples that became all-time favourites for a lot of audiences.

These two did deserve each other, as they were quite alike in terms of their nature.

How?

Well, they were always the givers and always put themselves out there for their group.

It’s rightly said:

Monica never cooked for herself, and

Chandler never spent money on himself.

That’s true.

On every occasion, Monica was always the only one who made all the food arrangements, and her apartment was always home to the rest of the group.

She was never annoyed with her house being crowded with others; in fact, she always welcomed everyone openly.

On the other hand, Chandler always helped his friends financially, especially Joey.

He paid for the rent and the other expenses and never felt arrogant about that.

Monica was like a mother, and Chandler was like a father to the group.

That’s how they were right for each other.

This is one of the beautiful videos they made:

The song is perfect for them.

When I first watched this, I was like:

Damn! Who’s cutting onions?

It brought tears to my eyes.

Best friends turning into lovers and best life partners is something we always wish for ourselves.

Chandler was always afraid of commitments, but with Monica, he became ready for everything.

He is the perfect guy for every girl.

We loved this scene.

After this moment, we can never doubt his feelings for Monica. He was a completely different and mature person.

He just wanted to be with Monica.

I felt really sad when we were told that these two couldn’t have kids.

Monica always wanted to have kids, but God’s plan was different.

However, they were able to adopt kids in the finale.

A happy moment for them. This brings me to Chandler’s other great conversation with Erica.

He was able to convince her through his true emotions, his love for his wife, and her dream of having kids.

There are a lot of great moments between these two.

Let me share two of my favourites:

Collage (Monica in Turkey, proposal scene)

Even after so many years, Mondler still manages to remain one of our top favourite couples.

Coming to the other couple from Friends:

Ross and Rachel

No matter what others say, I still ship them. Yes, I do agree that at many points their relationship was toxic, but they were still perfect for each other.

I don’t know why people don’t like Ross, even though he was such a nice person and really good for Rachel.

They had their ups and downs in their relationships, but we can’t always blame Ross for that. If you guys think that Ross was the only toxic one in the relationship, then think again. He truly loved Rachel from the bottom of his heart.

No matter how many times I watch this scene, I never get tired of it.

Ross is such a cutie.

For so many years, he was in love with her but never got a chance to tell her that.

However, Rachel found out about his feelings from some other incidents, and then their story actually started. Before that, it was one-sided, and Ross never tried to impose anything on her.

I felt so happy for him when he finally got the girl he always wanted.

Here, I am compiling some of their best moments from the start of the season:

There are a lot of other moments as well, but these are the top three for me.

Their chemistry is simply unbeatable.

When we are talking about Ross, there is no denying that Rachel also loved him.

She was also very toxic, and the thing that annoyed me about her was that whenever Ross got into a relationship, Rachel always stepped in and tried to win him back.

Bonnie might be an idiot, but the way she was treated didn’t seem fair.

In the same way, Julie was such an excellent character, but she had to walk away because of Rachel.

So, these are some moments in which I simply don’t like her.

But of course, there are some moments that make us realize that, deep down, she loved and wanted to see Ross happy.

Let’s take a look at those:

First one:

Even though she came here to win back Ross, when she saw him happy with someone else, she stepped back.

This was the moment she realized that she missed her chance, and now it was time to let go.

This is painful, but it is also the right thing to do.

Another moment that makes us fall in love with Rachel is:

Out of all the girlfriends Ross had, I guess Mona might be the only one with whom Rachel didn’t have a battle over being with Ross.

She also wanted to see Ross move on and have a happy life, which he always wanted.

This was the moment in which we realized that Rachel had finally matured.

Their relationship was like a roller coaster.

They were two people who were totally in love with each other but had challenges keeping things right.

Their breakup is still one of the saddest scenes, and

Their reunion is still one of the happiest scenes.

I was very happy when they got back together in the finale.

A perfect ending to their story.

There are some other couples in the above video, but I am just aware of the ones I mentioned.

Thus, I can’t talk about the others.

I would love to wind up this blog by saying thank you to these amazing shows and cute couples, which teach us all some important lessons about being in a relationship.
