The Silent Patient: Best Psychological Thriller Book

I’ve heard this powerful quote before:

"There is no friend as loyal as a book."

And I couldn't agree more. Good books are exceptional companions, allowing readers to immerse themselves in the lives of captivating characters and compelling stories.

I recently completed a book that became my all-time favorite:

The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides

I would love to thank those who recommended me this book, as it was such an amazing journey.

It is one of the best psychological thriller books I’ve ever read, and it kept the readers interested till the last sentence.

Since the year 2021 until now, there have been a lot of review writers and bloggers who are still giving positive feedback on this masterpiece. The thing that makes it even more special is that it was the debut novel written by Alex Michaelides and became such a major hit.

Let’s talk a little about:

Main Characters of the Book

The book mainly focused on two lead characters:

1.      Alicia Berenson

A great artist and a happily married woman who was accused of killing her own husband, whom she truly loved. Her life and her whole personality changed completely on one fine evening when she was found standing next to her dead husband's body with blood on her hands, and she never spoke again. Her mental instability led her to be under the care of various psychiatrists, but none were successful in breaking her silence. This enigmatic silence earned her the nickname "The Silent Patient."

Many therapists tried their best to make her speak, but none succeeded except:

2.      Theo Faber

A skilled psychotherapist who became obsessed with Alicia’s case. He never gave up on her and always had patience during his sessions with her. The novel brilliantly delves into the evolving bond between these two characters as therapist and patient. It cleverly unveils their personal lives and stories at a captivating pace, keeping readers intrigued.

There were a lot of other characters in the book, which made us even more suspicious about what the real deal was with Alicia’s case.

There is no doubt that she loved her husband and was happy with him, so why would she kill him?

She didn't, but then who?

It was such a mystery, and the way it was written was truly amazing.

The ending of the book is incredible, and it was something that we couldn’t even imagine.

For those who are looking for a mind-bending psychological thriller, The Silent Patient is the right book for you.

Highly Recommended!
